Sir Vintner was a Lyorn about whom little is known by Paarfi's readers. A few days before the disaster, his Majesty, Tortaalik was conversing with Vintner in the Seven Room. Khaavren interrupted the pair to inform them that he, the Captain, would be taking his leave temporarily to attend to an important errand, leaving Thack, his most trusted Corporal, in charge. Khaavren did not mention that his errand was to the Lord Adron.
The subject of conversation between Tortaalik and Vintner is not recorded, nor is Vintner's ultimate fate.
