I don't know whether the paragraph on Vlad's slip that I just added should be Meta or not. The mention of Steve is, but the contradiction and resolution are not exactly so, are they? thnidu 20:06, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Vlad's stories presumably exist within the Dragaera "world", even if it is assumed that no one on Dragaera (the "planet") hears them except Vlad himself. So this part is not meta. The mentions of Steve and the C&S link are definitely meta, but unless you want to elaborate more on this discussion (such as quoting the email interaction that you've quoted on C&S) it isn't really enough to justify a whole meta page. In any case, I see no reason to complain about the plug, and there's no real sense in duplicating the information here when it's so well presented on C&S. --Majikjon 21:08, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Easterner lover[]
In Iorich someone mentions to Vlad that Z. has an Easterner lover. I'm reading it now for the first time, but I didn't think to note the page number, and I've just started trying to keep track of who he talks to in which chapter. Anyway, if I'm remembering the line right -- spoken in present tense -- she still has an Easterner lover (presumably, but not certainly, Brimford) at the time of Iorich. -- Mark Mandel, proprietor, Cracks and Shards 19:52, May 9, 2010 (UTC)
- She tells Vlad, herself, in person, that she has an Eastern lover. I think she even calls him Laszlo. I don't remember which book it's in, apparently not Phoenix. But I'm pretty sure it happens. Steve and Jock 20:11, May 9, 2010 (UTC)
- I just finished Iorich. I still haven't located the passage I referred to above, but at the very end of Ch. 17 (p.312) Z mentions Laszló by name to Vlad. Then:
- V: "... Who is Laszló?"
- Z: "An Easterner. A witch. He's very good at what he does." A ghost of a smile crept over her features and I didn't press the issue.
- That's not a detail Vlad would forget. So if she has mentioned L. to him by name before, we have a Crack here (or Someone's been messing with his memory).

- The mention is in Phoenix, chapter 11, paragraph 123.
- The name is mentioned in passing, and she only refers to him as "her lover". I find it plausible that Vlad might not immediately connect a name she said once in passing some 7-8 years previously when he's addled with white wine and fine cheese. --Majikjon 05:07, May 11, 2010 (UTC)
