Interestingly, Khaavren was swearing "By the blood of the Horse" As early as Page 117 of The Phoenix Guards...Well before our heroes set out on the adventure that takes them to the Pepperfields.
This would appear to mean either:
- The oath has nothing to do with Wisdom or Fenarr or
- Khaavren was displaying the prescience of a Tiassa or
- Paarfi got the timing of events messed up

- or Paarfi was just applying cool oaths to his fictionalized dialogue, and forgot that "blood of the Horse" was invented on the Pepperfields. or SKZB for that matter. It's a bit like a person in the early 20th Century calling somebody else a nerd. Anachronism ahoy! - Attjen
- I'd say it's unlikely that Paarfi could have simply "forgotten" the origin of a phrase that plays a central role in his history. (Or, at least, given what that would say about his abilities as a historian, I doubt he'd take kindly to that theory.) I nearly think that getting the "timing of events messed up" is a passing good definition of anachronism... ;-)
- The possibility that the error lies with SKZB is, of course, a possibility I will endeavor to avoid resorting to, in the interests of getting more yummy speculation to play with. --Majikjon 19:24, 2 Nov 2005 (UTC)
