Her Highness, the Princess of Bendbrook, was the Tiassa Heir during the 17th Phoenix Reign of Tortaalik.
Princess Bendbrook wrote a satirical play which portrayed Tortaalik in a particularly humiliating way. It would appear that the Dragaeran Empire has no concept of freedom of speech, for Bendbrook was arrested for this slight by Khaavren.
While Tortaalik was sufficiently enraged to contemplate the death penalty for insulting him, he instead showed clemency and had her released. While it is not stated, it is reasonable to suspect that inter-House diplomacy and/or advice from wiser and cooler heads was brought to bear on Tortaalik in favor of this release.
